This site is part of the 4th largest inland port in the United States with grain elevators and rail infrastructure to accommodate inbound dry bulk products. Marine docking at the Port continues to manage dry bulk commodities such as: sand, limestone, gravel, coal, coke, cement, iron ore, fertilizers, ferro-alloys, sugar, lime, slag and grain. Liquid bulk commodities include chemicals, petroleum, sweeteners and edible oils. Its rail network serves all buildings, elevators, and docks within the 225-acre facility. NS is available as a direct Class 1 line and the South Shore Railroad and Chicago Rail Link are both Short Lines with access to the facility. This site offers considerable rail infrastructure as well as storage capacity for up to 350 cars.
